Preserving Your Ancestry - Episode SCB-529
In this episode, Melinda offers great tips and techniques on how to document your family history and preserve your family heirloom textiles through scrapbooking and needlework. Instead of keeping family heirloom textiles tucked away in a dark closet, bring them out for all to see. Store your cherished trimmings, findings, and edgings in a scrapbook you make for recording textiles. It’s a fun, rewarding way for your family to share and document its history in the world of fiber. For those who want to follow along, this project appears in Hip to Stitch, pages 38-43.
Summer Pages - Episode SCB-534
In this episode, Melinda will bring the vibrant days of summer to your scrapbooking pages by teaching how to hand stitch maps of your summer travels. Stitch a map of your favorite hike, drive, or bike trip to identify the photographs in your album. Melinda will show you how to outline roads, boundaries, waterways, trails, and favorite stops using 6 basic stitches: the backstitch, colonial knot, coral stitch, couching, running stitch, and satin stitch. Follow along in pages 82-85 of Hip to Stitch.
